...I have established relationships with family members I hardly knew and have reestablished friendships with family members I had drifted away from over the years. Phone calls about newsletter business give way to conversations about family relationships.
One of my fondest memories of family get-togethers when I was a child was sitting around my grandmother's large dining room table after a satisfying meal and listening to the older folks telling stories about bygone days. They were joking and laughing until tears streamed down their faces. The occasions for that now are few and far between. We don't get together as often for holiday celebrations as we once did. The distances between us are just too great. Our family newsletter has managed to help fill that void a little. We can't laugh and joke around the same table as much anymore, but we can still share experiences, and chuckle over someone's witty writings. We do that now through our family newsletter.
